“The earth has music for those who listen.” ― George Santayana I took this photo in 2009 while hiking the spectacular Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina.
Patagonia is a place of mystique. So far away from anywhere I’ve ever been. At the edge of the earth. That is how I felt when I arrived in Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina. In the middle of nowhere. Yet it never felt better.
This photo was taken in November 2009 during a hike in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. There is something spectacular about walking through a fragrant Patagonian forest and spying a brilliant glacier through the darkness of the woods. Here in the Andes, the mountains are craggy and jagged. Glaciers runs forever and the weather is very unpredictable. This day, we had beautiful gleaming sunshine and relatively little wind which is unusual for this far south. We also had a fresh […]

The only way to get there is by bus or car on a road that leads to this outpost in the middle of nowhere. It feels like a dream when you arrive. Eerily quiet save a few late night partygoers, old fashioned street lamps lining the dusty gravel road. But once you are there, […]
Photo taken in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. Less than two weeks from now, I’ll be hiking again. Not the Andes but the French Alps. I can hardly wait!
“Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing.” ― Barry Finlay, Kilimanjaro and Beyond Photo taken in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. 2009. It was cold that morning as we rose for day three of our hike in the midst of nowhere. It had lightly snowed the night before leaving behind footprints from the Heavens above. Despite the fatigue, to be at one with nature doing what I love best, was sensational. Oh, Patagonia, how your heart […]
Photos of the world famous Perito Moreno Glacier in southern Argentina. I was going through older photos and came upon some taken during a trip to Patagonia in November 2009. I reworked them slightly and am in awe of the dramatic beauty of such a place. I can feel the harsh, ice-cold wind now as I remember this magical place.
