I took this photo upon entering a beautiful remote village in Nepal, hiking along the Annapurna trek. I love how prayer flags are so symbolic of this part of the world and welcomed you into each village. Under the prayer flags is the bouncy bridge we had to cross in order to enter the town.
We hiked to the most sensational spot for a picnic lunch. At a translucent glacial lake in Vanoise National Park, France. The cool, calm waters reflected the rocky mountains perfectly. It was so serene.
Photo taken on top of the highest point in Vanoise National Park, France. August 2012. Besides being home with my family, my favorite spot is this above. On top of the world, at the highest point of a mountain. There is no place on earth like it. To feel so exhilarated, so alive and so free, is the best spot you could ever be. When modern day life brings me down and the pressure of the world weighs heavily on […]

“Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing.” ― Barry Finlay, Kilimanjaro and Beyond Photo taken in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. 2009. It was cold that morning as we rose for day three of our hike in the midst of nowhere. It had lightly snowed the night before leaving behind footprints from the Heavens above. Despite the fatigue, to be at one with nature doing what I love best, was sensational. Oh, Patagonia, how your heart […]
I was working on a post for Jakesprinter’s Sunday post titled “Sunrise” and took a second look at these photos I’d taken at three different times during the same day just after a fresh coat of snow. I thought they were so lovely I had to share. Sunrise Mid-day Late afternoon
Greeting from Nepal…wish you were here! Photo taken after the Thorung-La pass, Annapurna Trek, Nepal. Here is a continuation of yesterday’s postcard. This is the long hike down following the mule trains after the pass. Yes, it was exhausting yet exhilarating all the same. The landscape here is so diverse. It is near the remote Mustang area of Nepal and much more barren and brown. I felt like I couldn’t have been further away from civilization than here.
Greetings from the Annapurna Trek…wish you were here! Photo taken just after crossing the highest point of the Annapurna Trek, Thorung La, in Nepal. November 2010. We slept poorly at the rustic tea house before the darning Thorung La pass. It was freezing cold and we wore everything we had underneath two yak-hair blankets. So cold that it was hard to even get up to use the restroom. At 3 am we rose, ate in silence and began our ascent […]
Greetings once again from Nepal…wish you were here! Photo taken somewhere along the Annapurna Trek in Nepal. I know I need to move on to another subject but somehow I can’t. I’m having way too much fun reworking these photos I took during a two week trek along the Annapurnas in Nepal. I promise I’ll pick a new subject soon!
