“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” ― Albert Camus I took these photos today on my walk around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Normally the lake is close to freezing by now and we have snow. (The photo above is not snow but foam from the lake). Global climate change is getting the better of our winter. Wish it would stop. “The appearance of things changes according to the emotions; and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves.” ― Khalil Gibran “The timeless in you is aware of Life’s Timelessness. And knows that yesterday is But Today’s memory. And Tomorrow is Today’s Dream.” ― Khalil Gibran, The Prophet This post is in response to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge, Reflections. Spectacular fall has finally arrived in full force in Minneapolis. I had to stop and take these photos during my daily run around Lake Harriet. It was so utterly breathtaking that it made me smile and melted all my worries away. This post is in response to Where’s my Backpack’s travel theme: Foliage. To see more entries, click here.
I took this photo yesterday around Lake Harriet and when I looked at the photo it seemed as if the flower was bursting out of the screen! I fell in love with this photo!
The leaves have slowly started to turn while the sun sets and casts a golden hue across the lake. Oh how I love fall in Minnesota! This post is in response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday Post: Autumn. To read more entries, click here.
Photo taken today at Lake Harriet in Southwest Minneapolis./em> I was at my lovely neighborhood lake today on a warm fall afternoon and remembered Ailsa’s Travel theme: Red. I wish I had my real camera. This is just my iPhone yet it […]
Photo taken a few days ago at Lake Harriet near my home in Southwest Minneapolis. I find it fitting to feature this photo today. As summer winds down with a blast of heat today (high of 95 F!) and school has once began again, this sunset reminds me that fall is on its way. I’ll miss my summer sunsets over the lake but look forward to the magical fall colors that September and October will surely bring.
Today was the last day of school marking the onset of summer in my book. I took these photos on my walk around the lake. Feeling bittersweet. Another year just went quickly by.
