I shot this photo as I was entering a temple in Delhi, India. It was achingly hot and my bare feet were burning as my green dress was blowing in the fiery breeze. For some reason, I love this shot and it epitomizes my trip to Delhi in the summer.

Photo taken near Delhi, India. I am always inspired by modes of transportation and especially found it fascinating in Nepal and India. Given the heavy price of vehicles and enormous population, it is no wonder that many chose to cram as many people as possible into buses, cars and motorbikes. Oftentimes I’d see entire families with babies and kids all jammed onto one motorbike. Not sure how safe it is especially without helmets but it is the world we live […]

In response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday post with the theme of “solid” I couldn’t think of anything more solidly built and beautiful than India’s beloved Taj Mahal. A true testament of beauty, labor and love, this breathtaking structure was built in record time taking only twenty years to build using spectacular white marble and thousands of workers and artisans. It is one of the most impressive masterpieces in the world. Although the journey there was backbreaking and treacherously awful, when we […]

Greetings from Delhi…wish you were here! Photo taken in New Delhi from our hired car window in October 2010. After driving in Delhi, anything things possible. Our five hour plus ride to Agra, India home of the beloved Taj Mahal, was the most frightening, white-knuckled, annoying drive of my life. There were cows crossing, water buffalo sleeping, camels pulling carts of foliage that took up two lanes, and packed buses, cars and three-wheeled vehicles. I saw it all in those eleven hours […]

Greetings from India…wish you were here! Photo above of the world famous Taj Mahal in Agra, India. Taken in November 2010. Was it worth it? All the swarms of people, crowds, continual stares, crappy food, disgusting toilets, and four hour car ride to Agra? Yes. Yes it was. When I first saw the Taj Mahal, I was taken aback by it’s majestic beauty. It took my breath away. To see such an incredibly, spectacular sparkling white work of art in all the […]
