“Life your face to the sunshine and you cannot see any shadows” – Helen Keller These photos remind me of the beauty and light of the amazing world we live in. Taken in the Condoriri Valley last year in Bolivia, the photos fill me with joy and peace. I hope to get back to the mountains sometime soon. There are many mountains awaiting me to climb.
Above is the view after reaching Nepal’s Thorung La pass, the highest point at 17,770 feet (5,416 meters) in elevation on the Annapurna hiking circuit which I did four years ago. It is also the site of one of the worst avalanches in Nepal’s history killing dozens of trekkers and porters. It is heartbreaking. I never took much notice of them due to my shaded face but felt they would be a great representation of this week’s Photo Challenge: Silhouette. Am I the silhouette or the group of three in the background? This post is in honor if the Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette. To see more entries click here.
Photo taken in Vanoise National Park, France. I’ve felt the weight of the world on me the last week or so. Season changes, illness abound and the daily stresses of life. But the sun is shining once again and today is a brighter day.
Photo taken my second morning hiking Vanoise National Park, France. It was another spectacular cloudless day. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. The sun sparkled, the mountains loomed and the air was as fresh and pure as can be. I felt more alive than I had in months, for I was in a spectacular setting, working my body and I was free. Excerpt from upcoming post on thirdeyemom coming soon. This post is in response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday Post: […]
