Photo above of the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles (Our Lady of the Angels Basilica) in lovely Cartago, Costa Rica.  The basilica was built in 1639 and is one of the most famous churches in all of Central America. Devoted worshipers make pilgrimages from all across the lands praying for health, safety and forgiveness.  I was lucky to have spent a week living and volunteering in the lovely town of Cartago, Costa Rica back in April 2010.  […]
