J’adore cheese and found myself in heaven during a week-long stay in the French Alps. Hiking and eating as much fromage as possible! Here is some local cheese from Savoie for sale at a farmer’s market. I could have bought it all! This post is in response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday Post: Delicious. To see more entries, click here. Photo taken on top of the highest point in Vanoise National Park, France. August 2012. Besides being home with my family, my favorite spot is this above. On top of the world, at the highest point of a mountain. There is no place on earth like it. To feel so exhilarated, so alive and so free, is the best spot you could ever be. When modern day life brings me down and the pressure of the world weighs heavily on […]

The leaves have slowly started to turn while the sun sets and casts a golden hue across the lake. Oh how I love fall in Minnesota! This post is in response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday Post: Autumn. To read more entries, click here.

Excerpt from upcoming post on thirdeyemom coming soon. This post is in response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday Post: […]

In response to Jakesprinter’s Sunday post with the theme of “solid” I couldn’t think of anything more solidly built and beautiful than India’s beloved Taj Mahal. A true testament of beauty, labor and love, this breathtaking structure was built in record time taking only twenty years to build using spectacular white marble and thousands of workers and artisans. It is one of the most impressive masterpieces in the world. Although the journey there was backbreaking and treacherously awful, when we […]
This week’s Sunday Photo Challenge by Jacksprinter is another timely subject: Water. It just so happens that I spent my weekend surrounded by water, in the heart of northern Minnesota and the start of the Boundary Waters Wilderness and Canoe Area (BWCA). This part of the country affords some of the most spectacular, untouched wilderness and bodies of water in the nation. Yesterday, we took a three hour hike into the BWCA to Eagle Mountain, the highest point in Minnesota. […]
