Today’s Weekly Photo Challenge is unusual which is perfect for what we found on this morning’s walk in the desert. A rare sighting of a desert turtle who spend 95% of their time hidden in a burrow to escape the high Arizona heat. Pretty amazing! To see more entries to this weeks photo challenge click here.
Last year we spent Christmas in lovely Tucson, Arizona where my parents reside. I adore Tucson. The mountains, the desert, and the sunsets. It is a place of peace and tranquility. I love this photo taken from my parents home as the sun set across the desert sky.
Greetings from Tucson…wish you were here! Photo taken in my parents backyard in Tucson, Arizona. There is nothing I like more than a gorgeous, colorful sunset. Arizona has many. Many in so many incredible hues of pinks, reds, purples, oranges and blues. I’ve been fortunate to have seen many over the last twenty years or so that my parents have lived there. This one was last Christmas when we were all together celebrating the holidays.

My parents have lived in Tucson for years now and I love to visit them, especially during the winter months. Over Christmas we were there for a week and a half and I made sure to visit my absolute favorite place, Sabino Canyon. There are tons of amazing hikes and it is always beautiful no matter what time of year. I especially love […]
Goodbye Tucson…wish I was there! Photo taken as the sun was setting my last night in Tucson, Arizona. For the last eighteen years, I have gone to Tucson. It now feels like a second home. I love the mountains and the unique beauty and tranquility of the desert. The air is so peaceful and so still. I love to listen to the birds sing each morning and watch the sun rise and set. I will miss you Tucson but I […]
Greetings from Tucson….wish you were here! Photo above taken yesterday during a hike along the Ventana Canyon trailhead in Tucson, Arizona. There is nothing like a hike in the Arizona desert. It is so spectacular and serene that your spirits fly high and your heart soars. The dry, pure air infiltrates your lungs and the fragrant smell of the desert is delightful. My favorite time of year to hike is in the spring when the snow on the peaks above […]
