Above is the view after reaching Nepal’s Thorung La pass, the highest point at 17,770 feet (5,416 meters) in elevation on the Annapurna hiking circuit which I did four years ago. It is also the site of one of the worst avalanches in Nepal’s history killing dozens of trekkers and porters. It is heartbreaking.
