Mountain Home

This week’s photo challenge is Home. Perhaps the most interesting home I’ve ever seen during my travels was that of a 95-year-old monk in the Himalayas of Nepal. Here at over 14,000 feet lives the “cave monk” of Manang. He has lived here and given blessings to those who seek them for many years.

Here is his home built into the rocks…

    • His 65 year old daughter lives with him. I’m not sure if he comes down when it gets really cold but it was cold when we were there and even the tea houses where we stayed had no heat so we were really cold at night.
