“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”
― Albert Camus
I took these photos today on my walk around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Normally the lake is close to freezing by now and we have snow. (The photo above is not snow but foam from the lake). Global climate change is getting the better of our winter. Wish it would stop.

I was just commenting on another entry how photos I’ve taken in each of the past four seasons could have been taken in another. Fall colors and dry leaves in the spring and summer, gentle (and not so chilly) running streams in the winter.
So true!!! Thanks for stopping by!
Snow is coming 🙂
Yeah!!! It just started snowing gently here. I hope we get a lot. 🙂
WOW! I was lucky to have lived in Minneapolis for about 6 years before moving back to Ohio. Lake Harriet was my favorite! Your photos look like here much more than there! I remember my first winter (1991) and we had 3 feet of snow on Halloween, 2 feet or so on Thanksgiving, and 2-3 more feet at Christmas. It was more snow than I had even seen in my whole life! Global warming stinks. I bet your mosquitoes were enormous this year! I hope we can turn things around before it gets too much worse. Glad I got to see your post!
Cool! I remember that snowstorm as I was going to college in Madison WI and school got canceled and we had a huge snowball fight! My sister back in MN got literally snowed into the house for two days. They couldn’t open the doors!!! 🙂
I can imagine! We had an overhang, so at least we had 3 feet of room to start shoveling! HAHA! Such fun!

Fantastic photos for the theme, Nicole. I’m a bit stuck, as nothing seems to change here in Florida, whatever the season. 😦
I especially like the two photos with the berries!
Me too! 🙂 Thanks!
