Photo taken in June at the Temperance River State Park in northeastern Minnesota.
I love the look of the lonely bridge off in the distance before the river runs into Lake Superior. The Temperance River is one of many in this part of Minnesota’s rugged North Shore and is one of the breading grounds for delicious Steelhead Trout. The fish swim upstream from massive Lake Superior and lay their eggs in the calmer, milder waters of the rivers. Two to three years later, the young fish swim out to Lake Superior. Unfortunately due to the massive flooding in northeastern Minnesota many steelhead fish eggs and youth died and will never be replaced. What a pity.
I recognized this right away, went there a lot when I lived in Duluth. Thanks for the jog.
You’re welcome! Minnesota sure has some beautiful places, doesn’t it.
