Ailsa over at Where’s my backpack has a new travel theme for the week: Secret Places. I found this place driving from Rabat to Casablanca and instantly told the driver to pull over. I had to get a picture of it! You see, I had just read Tahir Shah’s book “The Caliph’s House” which is set in Casablanca and a drawing of this place appears inside the book. I thought for sure it was the real live Caliph’s House and could hardly stand my excitement. I even emailed the writer to discover that it was not the real Caliph’s House but some kind of secretive place that supposedly hosted the Saint of Casablanca. I never truly found out what it was but still, it was a secret place to me!
Awesome story!
Thanks! Still wish I knew more about that place!
I love it, Nicole, it looks terribly romantic and steeped in history.
I wish I knew more about it!
