This week’s Sunday Photo Challenge by Jacksprinter is another timely subject: Water. It just so happens that I spent my weekend surrounded by water, in the heart of northern Minnesota and the start of the Boundary Waters Wilderness and Canoe Area (BWCA). This part of the country affords some of the most spectacular, untouched wilderness and bodies of water in the nation.
Yesterday, we took a three hour hike into the BWCA to Eagle Mountain, the highest point in Minnesota. Along the hike, we stopped at lovely, pristine Whale Lake, one of many uninhabited lakes in the BWCA. I took these shots of the breathtaking, pure water. Oh how I wanted to dive on in for a swim and feel the cool water on my skin!

Thanks for the comment! Yes Minnesota really is a beautiful place! I started including it in my blog since I live here and realized that many people have never been here and don’t know how truly beautiful it is. It may not be exotic but it is special in its own right!
