For this week’s Photo Challenge, the topic “Sun” proved to be quite daunting for a beginner photographer like myself. Yes, I have plenty of beautiful photos of the spectacular sunsets I’ve seen in my life, especially during my travels. Yet the key to this photo challenge was not doing a sunset but using the sun itself as the subject.
I couldn’t think of a better place to use as my subject than beautiful, sunny Tucson, Arizona where my parents live. It is the sunshine state and is sunny much more often than it rains. So here are two shots that to me especially represent “sun”. The view was so stunning that I had to capture the photo yet had that pesky sun in the way. Now it is working to my advantage!
Both photos were taken while I was hiking.
Hope you enjoy!

I love the view in that first picture with the multi-faceted sunrays streaming in. Way to capture the southwest!
