Driving in Delhi

Greetings from Delhi…wish you were here!

Photo taken in New Delhi from our hired car window in October 2010.

After driving in Delhi, anything things possible.  Our five hour plus ride to Agra, India home of the beloved Taj Mahal, was the most frightening, white-knuckled, annoying drive of my life.  There were cows crossing, water buffalo sleeping, camels pulling carts of foliage that took up two lanes, and packed buses, cars and three-wheeled vehicles.  I saw it all in those eleven hours total it took to go to and from Delhi to the Taj Mahal.

Note to self:  Always hire a driver!
