Minnesota Sunset

Greetings from Roy Lake….wish you were here!

Photo taken at Roy Lake in Nisswa, Minnesota in July 2011 during our summer family vacation “up north”.

I love this picture!  It brings back so many memories of my childhood living and growing up in Minnesota, land of over 10,000 lakes.  Yes, we have an awfully, cold brutally long winter but summer time in Minnesota is like no other.

The sun doesn’t set until well past nine, the lake water is refreshingly cool, and the sunsets are amazing casting hues of pinks, oranges, purples and reds across the brilliant blue waters.  If you are lucky, you can hear the haunting call of the loon off in the distance and you are at once at peace.

As the summer slowly draws to a close with only four weeks left before September, I marvel at the beauty of this place and try to savor every moment of its loveliness.
