Greetings from Segovia…wish you were here!
Photo of the beautiful walled city of Segovia, Spain taken in January 1993. View of the of the Segovia Cathedral, the ancient City Walls (8th century), and the Guadarrama mountains in the background.
Ok, I am dating myself here a bit but “so be it” because the picture is worth it. Back in 1993, I spent nine months living abroad in Paris, France during my junior year of college. Before my program started, my mother and I traveled to Spain and visited the lovely town of Segovia, a ancient walled city that was built in the 8th century.
It was a delightful visit as I found Segovia to be a magical place that didn’t seem to change much over the years. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the infamous “RSP” or roast suckling pig, which is a local specialty but completely grossed me out!
I recently went to Segovia, it’s still magical. I thought the suckling pig tasted great, but tried not to think about the piglet.
