Greetings from Paris…wish you were here!
Picture of Rodin’s famous, Le Penseur “The Thinker” sculpture in the Musée Rodin, Paris, France.
I adore Paris. Love the city with all my heart. The first time I laid eyes on her, I was in love. I was at the fresh, ripe, impressionable age of thirteen. It was my first trip across the Atlantic and my parents chose to start our grand European adventure off in Paris.
As we walked down the Champs Élysées, my young eyes widened with excitement and awe like a child entering a candy shop. I marveled at the spectacular beauty, dignity and grandness of the City of Light. I decided then and there that someday I would live here. Someday. And I did, several years later during my junior year in college I returned to my beloved Paris to study French.
The museums, the architecture, the food, the culture, the parks, the cafés, the Seine, the monuments….captivated my heart and soul. The above picture is from one of my most beloved museums, the Musée Rodin. I love Le Penseur. He is so deep in thought, contemplating life and its meaning.
