Greetings from New Zealand….wish you were here!

This picture was taken in November 2002 en route to The Routeburn track in the South Island of New Zealand.

Imagine yourself in a place so ungodly beautiful that you feel like you are smack in the middle of “Middle Earth”.  After spending two weeks in New Zealand, I was in love.  The beauty of the North and South Islands are like no place on earth.

I was particularly enraptured by the haunted surroundings on a drive to the world famous Routeburn Track, arguably one of the most spectacular hikes in the world.  It felt like being right in the set of the latest Lord of the Rings (which was of course filmed in New Zealand).  Even on a cloudy day, New Zealand is beautiful.  It is one of those few places in the world that I’ll never stop dreaming about.
